PRIVACY POLICY

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) requires entities bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) to have a privacy policy. This privacy policy outlines the personal information handling practices of FIFR Saunas (FIFR) which we take very seriously and committed to adhering to the principles in the Act.  

The policy is written in simple language. The specific legal obligations of FIFR when collecting and handling your personal information are outlined in the Privacy Act and in particular in the APPs found in that Act. We will update this privacy policy when our information handling practices change. Updates will be publicised on our website.

We follow the Privacy Act to collect, hold, store, use and disclose personal information to carry out functions or activities associated with our business.

These functions and activities may include:                                                        

• Marketing activities
• Health related discussions for product selection

At all times we try to only collect the information we need for the function or activity we are carrying out.

The main way we collect personal information about you is when you give it to us. For example, we collect personal information such as contact details, reviews, requests, complaints or collect details when you:

• contact us to ask for information
• enquire through our website

Information collected may be in the nature of:

• Purchasing history, requests, messages, comments

Sometimes we may collect sensitive information about you. This might include information about your health which will inform us to help advise the most appropriate products for your situation.

Collecting through our website

There are a number of ways in which we collect information though our website.

Web analytics

We may use analytics software to collect data about your interaction with our website. The main purpose of collecting your data in this way is to improve your experience when using our site. We also use this data to understand and report on which content pages and downloads are accessed by visitors.

The types of data we collect with these tools include:

• date and time when pages were accessed
• downloads, time spent on page, and bounce rate
• IP address
• devise ID
• geographic location (city).

If your web browser has Do Not Track enabled, we will not track your visit.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files transferred onto computers or devices by websites for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on the website. We may use ‘cookies’ on our website that help track website usage and remember your preferences. Most browsers allow you to choose whether to accept cookies or not. If you do not wish to have cookies placed on your computer, please set your browser preferences to reject all cookies before accessing our website.

Embedded videos on our website

We may from time to time use Google’s YouTube site to host videos which are embedded on our website. Embedded videos on our website will use YouTube’s Privacy Enhanced Mode. When you play an embedded video from our website, the video and associated assets will load from the domain www.youtube-nocookie.com, and other domains associated with Google’s YouTube player.

YouTube collects information about user activity including videos watched and interactions with content and ads. You can access the privacy policy for YouTube on the Google website.

Email lists, registrations and feedback

We will collect information that you provide to us when signing up to mailing lists, campaigns and registering for our events, or when submitting feedback on your experience with our website.

Social networking services

We use social networking services such as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube to communicate about our products. When communicating with us using these services we may collect your personal information, but we only use it to help us to communicate back to our stored lists.

Whilst we use best endeavours to record your personal information in a secure manner we may need to update your information from time to time.  To ensure that your personal information we collect is accurate, up-to-date and complete we:

• record information in a consistent format
• promptly add updated or new personal information to existing records
• regularly audit our contact lists to check their accuracy.

Whilst we will do everything in our power to protect your information we cannot provide absolute assurance the information will be safe and can therefore not be held responsible for unauthorised access. 

Under the Privacy Act (APPs 12 and 13) you have the right to ask for access to personal information that we hold about you and ask that we correct that personal information. You can ask for access or correction by contacting us and we will endeavour to respond within 30 days. If you ask, we must give you access to your personal information, and take reasonable steps to correct it if we consider it is incorrect, unless the law allows or requires us not to. We will ask you to verify your identity before we give you access to your information or correct it, and we will try to make the process as simple and streamlined as possible. If we refuse to give you access to, or correct your personal information, we must notify you in writing setting out the reasons why. The steps appropriate to verify an individual’s identity will depend on the circumstances. We will seek the minimum amount of personal information needed to establish an individual’s identity. For example, during a telephone contact it may be adequate for us to request information that can be checked against our records.

If you wish to lodge a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please send it to us initially in writing. If you need help lodging a complaint, please contact us on 0421 65 75 10.

We will notify you promptly that we have received your complaint and seek to respond within 30 days.
